i love indian fashion, but sometimes i have a hard time mixing it with my western clothing. i found this varun bahl gown recently and fell in love. it’s the perfect balance of indo-western and ideal for an expat charity event, which i attended this past weekend. i love anything floral; the beaded flowers at the top and embroidered floral print from the waist to the hem are feminine and soft. i’m also obsessed with the black and blush colors mixed with silver at the waist. the cap sleeves are made of sheer net which are timelessly classic . i decided to wear the dupatta for an added indian element, but skipped on the churidars, given that it is so hot in bombay right now. since i chose an indian outfit, i decided to pair it with western accessories. i think this is the trick to mixing both styles so that i maintain my own fashion identity, while still being in tune with indian trends.
